Dotun Olawunmi

Director, IT Infrastructure

Oludotun (Dotun) Olawunmi is the Authority’s Director of infrastructure and operations within the Department of Information Technology. He works closely with business customers and other stakeholders to identify and promote the strategic use of information technology solutions to fulfill its mission while ensuring compliance with Authority & departmental processes, procedures, and schedules.

Dotun is a seasoned technologist with over two decades of hands-on experience developing and managing critical information and telecommunication systems. He joined DC Water in 2014, and before that, he worked for Sprint Nextel, now T-Mobile, where he supported network operations for the Northeast & Central US regions and has since led numerous infrastructure modernization initiatives at DC Water. His office also provides guidance on the evaluation of technology needs, innovation priorities, and technical advisory to the enterprise applications group.

Dotun earned an executive certificate in Management and Leadership from MIT Sloan School of Management, a Master of Technology in Homeland Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Olabisi Obasanjo University, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the US Department of Homeland Security Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity Program and holds technology certifications from Cisco Systems, Oracle, Microsoft, and McAfee Corporation.
