Director, Digital Transformation

Alireza Parhami is an accomplished executive leading DC Water's digital transformation initiative. As Director of Digital Transformation, he spearheads the Authority's enterprise-wide intelligent operational systems strategy, orchestrating cross-functional implementation of advanced data acquisition, analytics, and management solutions that drive operational excellence.

Mr. Parhami directs a comprehensive team of digital modeling experts, GIS professionals, data analysts, and BIM/CAD specialists who are revolutionizing DC Water's operational landscape through innovative digital initiatives. His diverse portfolio encompasses geospatial information systems, building information modeling, computer-aided design, and advanced data analytics solutions that enable visualization and optimization of critical infrastructure. Under his leadership, the organization has established robust frameworks for data governance, system integration, and predictive analytics that enhance decision-making capabilities across the enterprise.

Before assuming his current leadership role, Mr. Parhami served in strategic positions at DC Water and other prestigious organizations, including the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). His notable achievements include authoring WSSC's definitive buried water systems asset management plan and leading the development of one of North America's largest hydraulic modeling systems at AECOM—an innovative solution incorporating approximately 60,000 pipes and 50 pumping stations.

Mr. Parhami holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor's degree from Sharif University of Technology, complemented by a graduate diploma in Computer Science from Concordia University. A recognized industry authority, he maintains Professional Engineering (PE) licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Texas.

Canal Road Slope Stabilization Project Nears End; Off-peak Lane Closure to Replant Slope

TRAFFIC ADVISORY - CLEAN RIVERS - POTOMAC RIVER TUNNEL PROJECT

DC Water is in the final stretch of its slope stabilization project along Canal Road NW, a critical project that will pave the way for Potomac River Tunnel construction at this site. Beginning, the week of December 15, 2025, one westbound lane of Canal Road will be closed during daytime, off-peak hours on weekdays and Saturdays to hydroseed the slope.
