Online public meeting series starts in November

DC Water is introducing a new webinar series starting in November to share progress reports and helpful information about its Lead Free DC (LFDC) program. The quarterly series is designed to engage the community with dedicated topics and speakers each session as part of DC Water’s ambitious effort to replace all lead service lines (LSLs) in the city.

During the first webinar, November 14, the community will learn more about the service line inventory, which tracks the number of estimated LSLs in the District. DC Water will also highlight another milestone in the LFDC program after reaching more than 7,000 replacements to date. The public webinar will be followed by a large mail campaign next month to notify residents whether their home may have a lead service line, putting them in danger of serious health risks caused by lead exposure.

“This is an opportunity to open a dialogue with our DC neighbors and community organizations, partnering together to achieve a common goal of a ‘Lead Free DC,'” said DC Water CEO and General Manager David L. Gadis. “The new webinar series will also provide another level of transparency, sharing our progress, educating residents, and engaging our community on how, together, we can make the program even more successful.”

DC Water invites you to join us for this event. It is open to the public and a recording will also be made available to view for those unable to attend.  Registration is encouraged, but not required.
