Car Breaks Barrier and Partially Enters McMillan Reservoir

A car has partially entered McMillan Reservoir after the driver lost control of the vehicle and broke through the fencing. The occupants were safely rescued.

Officials from Fire and Emergency Services, the Washington Aqueduct (which operates McMillan Reservoir) and the DC Water and Sewer Authority are on the scene.

Assessments conducted so far indicate there is no threat to the water in the distribution system. Officials continue to assess and monitor the situation.
