UPDATE: No Issues Found with Sewer Line After Sinkhole Discovered on Ramp to Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway
DC Water has completed testing of the Rock Creek Main Interceptor—a major sewer line near the P Street NW ramp to Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway—after a sinkhole appeared on Friday. The results showed no significant leaks or structural issues in the sewer line.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Overnight Closures on Water Street NW for Crane and Drill Rig Delivery
DC Water will be making two oversized equipment deliveries to support the Potomac River Tunnel Project. This means overnight closures on the 3500 block of Water Street NW—near the Capital Crescent Trail entrance.
The first closure will take place overnight on Tuesday, July 1, and the second on Monday, July 7, weather permitting. The work zone will be closed to traffic and parking restrictions in effect near the Aqueduct. Brief delays may be possible. TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Emergency Road Closure P St NW ramp to Rock Creek & Potomac Parkway
DC Water is advising motorists of an emergency closure to the P Street Northwest Ramp to Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway, due to a sinkhole on the ramp that may compromise the roadway. The closure will begin between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. tonight until further notice, in order to assess the extent of the void beneath the roadway and near a major sewer line.
A six foot pipeline, known as the Rock Creek Main Interceptor, runs through this area and carries as much as 100 million gallons of wastewater a day.
