What to expect during lead service line replacement, next Lead Free DC Webinar

When your block comes up for DC Water’s free lead service line replacement or you want to hire a contractor yourself, it’s important to know what to expect. We’ve got you covered at our next Lead Free DC Virtual Meeting, Wednesday, July 9.
During our quarterly webinar, we’ll walk you through what happens BEFORE a lead service line replacement. It all starts well ahead of construction. We’re knocking on doors, digging test pits, and sending letters to make sure our Lead Free DC Program doesn’t leave anyone out. It’s a team effort will multiple forms of outreach as well as inspections.
“Our mission goes beyond replacing pipes—it’s about building trust with the communities we serve,” said DC Water CEO and General Manager David L. Gadis. “We’re committed to keeping residents informed, involved, and empowered every step of the way.”
We’ve also got important news to share about the progress we’re making, with up-to-date replacement data and ways to engage with the program. If you still have questions, we’ve built in time for you to ask our Lead Free DC team of experts.
Join us on July 9, to learn more about our program and get answers to your questions:

Begun in 2019, the Lead Free DC Program was created to accelerate lead service line replacements and combine all our lead reduction efforts under one banner. The goal is to replace all of the city’s estimated 42,000 lead service lines with copper pipe.
It’s part of DC Water’s 10-year, $9.6 billion Capital Improvement Program, committed to upgrading our water and sewer infrastructure to provide safe, reliable service for the nation’s capital today and in the future.
