Ecudemio Gutierrez II

Director, Safety

Ecudemio Gutierrez II serves the Authority as Director, Occupational Safety and Health. In this capacity, he is responsible for establishing and implementing DC Water’s Safety Programs and Policies, while leading a team of safety professionals in the continuous improvement of the Authority’s safety culture.

Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Gutierrez served as Employee Healthy and Safety Corporate Director at Freyssinet, Inc., where he oversaw all aspect of the organization's safety programs and policies, and ensured compliance with all corporate, Federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Gutierrez served in leadership roles with Kiewit Power / TIC Power, and with Trinity Safety Group. Across these roles, he built a reputation for administering highly effective occupational health and safety programs, while also modeling integrity and the principles of servant leadership. 

Mr. Gutierrez holds a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Capella University, and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University. He has also served on numerous panels for the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), and holds certifications as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Safety Management Specialist (SMS).
