TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Midday Lane Closure Clara Barton Parkway At The Maryland-DC Border Starting This Week
Beginning this week and continuing through the end of September, DC Water may close one lane temporarily between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Clara Barton Parkway at the Maryland - DC border. The closures are necessary to allow crews to safely deliver materials to the job site and service equipment.
To reduce traffic delays, lane closures will be used as needed throughout the month of September to support ongoing work. Crews may need to use the full 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. timeframe when necessary to complete the work. One lane will be closed during these periods, while the remaining lane will remain open to traffic alternating in both directions. Drivers should slow down, watch for signs and flaggers, and expect possible short delays.
This section of the pipe was identified as part of a new, ongoing effort to inspect the entire Potomac Interceptor system and prioritize repairs. DC Water moved this area up for emergency repair based on the inspection results. Crews will repair about 400 linear feet of pipe in this area.
