Tingey Street Lane Shift On or About January 5

January 06, 2015

(Washington, DC) – DC Water and its contractor, Corman Construction, will be completing road realignment work at the DC Clean Rivers Main Pumping Station Diversions Project site on Monday, January 5, 2015, weather permitting. This work will involve shifting traffic lanes on Tingey Street, SE. More specifically, the parking lane on the north side of Tingey Street between New Jersey Avenue, SE and 3rd Street, SE will be converted to a travel lane in order to maintain two-way traffic along this portion of the roadway.

“No-Parking” signs will be placed along the north side Tingey Street parking lane, and these signs will be in effect 7 days per week, 24 hours, beginning January 5. Parking in this portion of Tingey Street will be prohibited through the duration of the project (until summer 2017).

Immediately upon completion of the road realignment work, the contractor will also need to extend the construction staging fence on Tingey Street approximately 20 feet north. While pedestrian access on Tingey Street will be maintained, pedestrian traffic immediately surrounding the work area will be detoured, as needed.
