Public Invited to Open House on System Availability Fee

January 24, 2018

DC Water invites the development community (developers, builders) and the general public to attend the DC Water Public Open House, which will permit interested parties to share their thoughts on the new System Availability Fee (SAF) regulations. The revised SAF regulations, intended to recover the investment in available system capacity, are scheduled to go into effect this summer. DC Water’s Board of Directors wants to get feedback on the current regulations before making substantial revisions. For more information please visit our page on the System Availability Fee.

Members of the public who wish to comment on the SAF regulations can come to the Public Open house and/or submit written comments. Testimony by individuals will be limited to five (5) minutes while comments made by representatives of an organization will be limited to ten (10) minutes.

Individuals and organizations can submit written comments on the SAF by emailing linda.manley@dcwater.com with "Comments for SAF Regulations” in the subject line by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018.  The public will have another opportunity to comment when DC Water publishes the proposed rules in the D.C. Register in March.

If you want to attend the Public Open House and comment in person, please email linda.manley@dcwater.com with the name, address, telephone number and name of the organization or call 787-2330, no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2018.
