DC Water, EPA Announce New Operating Permit for Blue Plains

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will re-issue DC Water an operating permit for the Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant, the largest wastewater treatment facility of its kind in the world and its discharges flows into the Potomac estuary.

WHAT: At a joint press conference, DC Water and EPA officials will discuss the requirements of the new permit, as well as the progress that has been made in the region over the past 25 years to help improve water quality.

WHEN: Friday, September 10 at 11 a.m.
