DC Water Emergency Repair Results in Temporary Lane Closures at M and Water Streets, SE Beginning March 26

(Washington, DC) – Beginning Tuesday, March 26, 2013, DC Water will be performing emergency work to repair a portion of the water main on M Street, SE near the intersection at Water Street, SE. Weather permitting, this work will last approximately ten (10) business days, with crews completing the repair on or about Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Daily hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Important Information:
• There will be lane closures on M Street within the
vicinity of Water Street during this work.
• Two-way traffic will be maintained on M Street and
adjacent streets while this portion of the work takes
place.
• Flagmen will be used to direct traffic through the work
zone.
• Some traffic stops and delays within the vicinity of the
work zone are anticipated.
• Temporary traffic signs have been set up throughout the
area to alert motorists to the upcoming traffic changes.

DC Water will be doing construction as part of a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project on Clara Barton Parkway in Maryland from Sept 8 - Oct 10, 2025, which may cause delays inbound near the I-495 Beltway interchange. One lane will be closed in the work zone to reline an 800-foot section of the sewer line, known as the Potomac Inteceptor. Access to the inner and outer loops of the Beltway will remain available. Additional lane closure may be necessary intermittently through Oct 31, 2025.
