DC Water Construction Continuation on 16th Street will Result in Lane Closures on April 12

(Washington, DC) – DC Water is performing construction activities on 16th Street, NW as part of its Capital Improvement Projects.

During this portion of work on Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 7:00am until 7:00pm, there will be lane closures on 16th Street NW between Meridian Place NW, Spring Road NW and Taylor Street NW. It is advised to use 14th Street NW as an alternative route for travel northbound on 16th Street NW.

Important Information:
* Temporary traffic signs will be set up throughout the area to alert motorists to the upcoming traffic changes.

* Some traffic delays within the vicinity of the work zones are anticipated.

* Sidewalk detours will also be implemented.

* Noise levels will be closely monitored during construction.

Project Details
DC Water will execute restoration activities on 16th Street NW between Spring Road NW and Taylor Street NW. DC Water will also perform infrastructure replacement and restoration at 16th Street NW and Meridian Place NW. These efforts will improve water quality and system reliability, increase water pressure in some areas, and maintain adequate flows throughout the system.
