Wastewater is collected by the District of Columbia sewer system and from the Maryland and Virginia suburbs and is delivered to the Blue Plains AWTP. The Blue Plains AWTP is the largest advanced wastewater treatment facility of its type in the world. We also have the wastewater treatment process detailed in the "What We Do" section of this website. In the meantime, join us on a virtual tour of the facility!
