Director, Facilities Management

Mr. Brent F. Christ serves DC Water as Director, Facilities Management working within the Administration cluster. Mr. Christ initially joined the Authority as Supervisor, Construction in July 2008 and was promoted to Director, Facilities in 2018. As Director, Facilities, Mr. Christ administers programs for the construction, operations, maintenance and improvement of the Authority’s facilities, buildings, grounds and roadways. He directs facilities services, facilities maintenance, custodial services and administrative functions to include construction, oversight, asset management, space planning, facilities repair, renovations, real estate disposal sand acquisition as well as the cafeteria, vending, mailroom, copy center, and copier and recycling services. Mr. Christ also served as the Construction Manager for DC Water’s LEED Platinum-certified new headquarters, which opened in early 2019. Prior to joining DC Water, Mr. Christ worked for a variety of construction and contracting organizations, most recently as Project Engineer and Construction Manager for CDG/Arcadis and Vice President and part owner of VSA Construction Services. Mr. Christ holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is also a Certified Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).

Piney Branch Parkway Section to Reopen Monday, Restoring a Key Route for DC Commuters

Following a 27-day closure, DC Water will reopen a section of Piney Branch Parkway between Arkansas Avenue and Beach Drive NW early Monday morning, restoring an important cross-town connection for thousands of District commuters. During the closure, a section of the road was temporarily relocated for construction of DC Water’s Piney Branch Tunnel Project.
