Change of Ownership Request Support
Submit ownership updates and balance requests through our 3rd Party Portal. For properties settled over 90 days ago, ownership updates are made using the deed. Please contact Customer Service at 202-354-3600 for assistance.
Change of Ownership
- For properties settled within the last 90 days, or to request a balance due or ownership change, please use our 3rd Party Portal (3PP).
- For properties settled more than 90 days ago, DC Water updates ownership based on the deed.
- Title Agents can access 3PP to get an Ownership Change Request number (OCR#).
- Your first or final bill will be issued within 30 days.
- Single-unit Condos or COOPs not individually metered do not need ownership documents to start or stop service.
- Final bills are not sent to tenants or management companies.
