Comprehensive Outreach/Upcoming Events

DC Water recognizes that one of the most fundamentals to a firm's success is its access!

Accordingly, a comprehensive outreach program is an essential element of DC Water's strategy for ensuring diversity on its projects.  To that end, DC Water provides numerous opportunities for certified firms to engage with us in support of their growth and development.

DC Water hosts a series of in-depth educational and training seminars throughout the fiscal year.  Below is a general description of DC Water's outreach activities:

Brief Description

Business Outreach Meetings

DC Water holds business outreach meetings annually. All businesses are invited to attend to learn about major projects, upcoming contracting opportunities, and updates of general interest.

Networking with technical assistance providers, lenders, and other vendors occur at the end of each meeting.

Contract Compliance Training

Compliance trainings are held (online or in-person) to provide contractors an understanding of the rules and expectations related to prevailing wage compliance, certified firm utilization, and compliance reporting.  

Lunch and Learn Series

DC Water holds quarterly lunch and learn sessions to provide firms the ability to learn about current and future opportunities and network.

New Firm Orientation

An opportunity to meet with the Procurement and Compliance Team, and help acclimate to DC Water’s procurement process, navigate the Vendor Portal, and get helpful hints on submitting a successful response.

Pre-Bid/Pre-Proposal Meetings

Project specific meetings that provide firms the opportunity to learn about the details of the project and ask  questions. Additionally, these meetings serve as networking opportunities to connecting bidding primes and other firms for subcontracting/partnering.

Vendor Days

Individual meeting opportunities with a representative of DC Water’s Compliance Team.
