The Pennyfield Lock boat ramp will be closed to trailers carrying boats for the duration of the ongoing Potomac Interceptor Rehabilitation Project near Pennyfield Lock Road. Kayakers and other non-trailer users will still be able to access the Pennyfield Lock boat ramp.

The closure is necessary to support construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of the Potomac Interceptor, including site preparation, excavation and installation of a new sewer pipe inside the existing Potomac Interceptor.

The boat ramp will remain closed throughout the project to vehicles to help maintain a safe work area for construction crews and protect the public from active construction activities. The ramp will reopen once Rehabilitation work in the area is complete.

Visitors should follow all posted signage and use caution around active construction areas.
