INITIAL PUBLIC MEETING ON ST. ELIZABETHS WATER TOWER PROJECT

The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC WASA) invites citizens, employees and interested parties in the District of Columbia to this public meeting

What: Public meeting on the proposed St. Elizabeths Water Tower project, to be built on the campus of St Elizabeths Hospital in SE

When: Tuesday, July 21, 2009 — 6:30 p.m.

Where: UPO Petey Green Center, located at 2907 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. SE, Washington DC 20032

Background:
DC WASA is in the process of planning for the construction of a new water tower on the east campus of St. Elizabeths Hospital, which is both a national historic landmark and an historic site protected by the District of Columbia historic preservation law. Construction on the campus requires the implementation of the process set forth in Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. DC WASA has been authorized by the District government to act as the lead agency. WASA is identifying and enlisting consulting parties to the project and conducting several public meetings. The project and process will be discussed at this initial public meeting July 21.
