The District’s Favorite Water Mascot Will Join Screech & the Nationals Tonight at Nats vs Phillies

September 23, 2019

Wendy the Water Drop is teaming up with the Washington Nationals today to tout DC Water’s familiar “Drink Tap” message in front of fans at the ballpark.

Wendy, who visits schools, parks, street fairs, and countless other events during the year, today will make her debut at Nationals Stadium during the famous ‘President’s Race’ in the 4th inning.

Her message will be like the message DC Water routinely shares with our customers and stakeholders: Tap water is far less expensive than buying disposable bottles of water, far better for the environment in terms of reducing plastic consumption and typically safer because it is more closely regulated than single-use water bottles.

“We’re grateful for the Nats giving Wendy this opportunity to share her Drink Tap message,” said DC Water Chief Executive Officer and General Manager David L. Gadis. “Maybe next time she can take a swing.”

Wendy is one of the most recognizable mascots in the District and has been part of DC Water’s identity since the authority’s rebranding in 2010.
