Start/Stop New Service FAQs
How do I start/stop new service? 

Your Title agent has direct access to us through our 3rd Party Portal (3PP) application. Make sure your Title agent has obtained your Ownership Change Request (OCR#) from 3PP. Your first or final bill will arrive within 30 days.

Are owners of Condo’s and COOP’s required to provide ownership documentation to start/stop service?

Owners of a single unit (i.e Condos, COOP) that is not individually metered by DC Water are not required to provide ownership documentation to start/stop service.

Do tenants or management companies receive a final bill?

Final bills are not issued to tenants or management companies.

Rock Creek Trail Site for Potomac River Tunnel Project
Ground Stabilization Work Begins Near Watergate Complex, starting Aug 25

Starting the week of August 25, DC Water will take another big step forward in the Potomac River Tunnel Project. Ground stabilization will begin at the Rock Creek Trail site, near the Watergate Complex, to drill secant piles that will form a retaining wall for the drop shaft.

Customer Service Center Announcement

Payment Plan Incentive: provides a credit back of 40% of the last 3 payments made and in the new fiscal year 50% will be credited. Eligible participants are residential customers who have had an outstanding balance for 60 days or greater and with an outstanding balance of $500 or more.
