Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement

Schannette Grant serves the Authority as Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement. In this role, she leads the development and execution of comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies at DC Water, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders. Ms. Grant builds relationships within the business community, non-profit and environmental organizations, and industry associations to foster collaboration and advocacy for Authority initiatives. 

Ms. Grant is a seasoned public servant whose career spans over 24 years of dedicated service to the Council of the District of Columbia, representing Ward 2 of the city. Throughout her Council tenure, Ms. Grant acted as a tireless champion for the residents, advocates, and businesses of the District of Columbia, working to create and foster a more engaged, responsive, and vibrant community.

Her long-standing commitment to public service and community engagement is reflected in her consistent efforts to drive and implement policy reforms and community initiatives that address the diverse needs of all constituents. Known for her leadership and steadfast dedication, Ms. Grant has played a key role in fostering civic engagement, supporting economic development, and educating the community on the resources available to them.

Her work on behalf of Ward 2 has left an enduring legacy of transparency, knowledge sharing, accountability, and innovation in local governance. Ms. Grant’s career is not only marked by her legislative achievements but also by her passion for empowering communities and ensuring that every resident and stakeholder is informed and has a voice in shaping the future of their city.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Grant is deeply committed to empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders and supporting the success of our nation’s capital for everyone to enjoy. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Ms. Grant holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fayetteville State University.
