John T. Pappajohn

Director, Procurement, Goods & Services

In his role as Director of Procurement, Goods and Services, John Pappajohn leads DC Water’s procurement function for goods and services. As part of these duties, he is responsible for both the assessment and acquisition of all non-capital program goods and services, as well as all purchasing across the Authority. Additionally, Mr. Pappajohn leads the category management and purchasing teams to ensure all solicitations and purchases support the Authority’s strategic requirements and provide the best value. 

Prior to joining DC Water, Mr. Pappajohn served as Sr. Director of Contract / Vendor Management for Samsung Electronics American – Networks, where he built a 40-person team from the ground up and oversaw all operations regarding the negotiation, implementation, turnkey administration, and management of vendor, partner and customer agreements for Samsung’s Networks division across the United States.

Earlier in his career, John served as Vice President of Vendor Management for LightSquared, Inc. (now Legato), where he ran the new Enterprise PMO and assumed operational leadership for all vendor management activities.

Mr. Pappajohn holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Lafayette College and serves on the Board of Directors of the Avalon Theater Project.
