Dr. Jimmy Ortiz

Dr. Jimmy Ortiz is the President & CEO of ZITRO 360 Group, LLC, an international governmental relations and educational consulting firm. Previously, he managed Global Business for International Bridge and directed international relations for USPS, starting his career as a Letter Carrier in New York City. Ortiz held numerous roles in policy, operations, management, and business development across New York, Puerto Rico, and Washington, DC, including Acting Executive Director, International Postal Affairs.

In 2009, endorsed by the Department of State and USPS, Ortiz served as Regional Coordinator for Latin America for the UN Universal Postal Union in Costa Rica, overseeing multiple projects like Haiti’s mail delivery reconstruction. Returning to USPS, he developed international programs supporting bilateral relations and multilateral agreements with 192 foreign postal administrations.

Ortiz was instrumental in reestablishing direct mail exchanges between Cuba and the US in 2016 and served on the UPU EMS Cooperative Board, improving global EMS delivery quality. His board experience includes leading Prospanica DC, earning awards like Chapter of the Year, and chairing committees for the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain, and Portugal.

Currently, Ortiz is Vice President of Teatro de la Luna and serves on the Advisory Board of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund DC and Grupo 21. He resides in Ward 6 and holds degrees from SUNY, CUNY, Central Michigan University, and Universidad Fidelitas.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Single Westbound Lane Closure on Canal Road Saturday

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, one westbound lane of Canal Road Northwest NW will be closed between Foxhall Road (Glover-Archbold Trailhead) and the Georgetown University entrance. As part of DC Water’s slope stabilization project, a crew will remove debris from the bottom of the slope. The lane closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
