Debora Harvey

Executive Director

Debora Harvey is the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Washington DC Chapter of the National Utility Contractors Association.  She represents the member companies’ interests in the DC area, helping them grow their businesses, advocating for fair and equitable laws and regulations, promoting excavation and construction safety and education.   She has been with NUCA of Metro DC for nine years.

Ms. Harvey has over 30 years of experience in advocacy, organizing, and business management.   Previously she was Director of Client Services with a health care advocacy organization, and Director of Program Management at Sprint, managing international telecommunications growth and connectivity. 

Ms. Harvey earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from American University.

Ms. Harvey is active in the DC area running community, serving as an Angel Runner with Ainsley’s Angels and as a running coach for 261 Fearless.

DC Water Officials with NPS and ANC commissioners doing ceremonial groundbreaking
DC Water Breaks Ground on Piney Branch Tunnel, Final Phase of DC Clean Rivers Project

Today, DC Water broke ground on the Piney Branch Tunnel, the final major tunnel in our Clean Rivers Project. This work will help keep sewage and trash out of local waterways and make Rock Creek, the Potomac River, and the Chesapeake Bay cleaner for our community.

When we finish the Piney Branch Tunnel, it will hold at least 4.2 million gallons of rainwater and wastewater during heavy storms. Instead of overflowing into Piney Branch, that water will go to the Blue Plains Water Resource Recovery Facility, where it will be treated.
