DC Water Launches First-Ever Water Drop Mascot Auditions

February 04, 2013

Do you have talent and swagger? Can you make people laugh with non-verbal communication? If so, then you have what it takes to be a water drop. DC Water invites energetic and versatile individuals to audition to become its new “Wendy/Wendell the Water Drop” mascot.

“The Water Drop has become a popular ambassador for DC Water, by engaging and entertaining children and adults at DC Water-sponsored activities and various public outreach events across the District,” says DC Water General Manager George S. Hawkins. “This is the first time DC Water has held auditions for our mascot. We are taking these auditions seriously, while having a little fun.”

Auditions will be held Friday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 19 from noon to 5 p.m. at DC Water’s Bryant Street Pumping Station (3rd floor auditorium), 301 Bryant Street, N.W.

Mascot hopefuls should be prepared to showcase their talents and perform some non-verbal movement. Participants will also be required to try on the Water Drop costume. Judges will be evaluating candidates on agility, animation and charisma. Auditions will be judged by members of the DC Water staff.

Participants must have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation. This is a part-time paid position. Candidates should be 18 years old and up, and eligible to work in the United States.

To schedule an audition, please contact Emanuel D. Briggs at (202) 787-2003 or send an email to emanuel.briggs@dcwater.com. Photo identification is required for entry at the Bryant Street Pumping Station. This facility is metro accessible, and street parking is available.
