Timothy L. Firestine is currently serving as the Chief Administrative Officer for Montgomery County, Maryland. He has worked in public sector financial management for 28 years.

Firestine began his career as Budget Officer for the Allegheny County Controller in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Firestine has spent most of his career with Montgomery County where he worked in the Office of Management and Budget for 12 years before becoming the Director of the Department of Finance in 1991. In 2006, he was appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the County.

Mr. Firestine is a member and past president of the Maryland Government Finance Officers Association; chairman of the Board of Investment Trustees for the Employee Retirement System for Montgomery County; and the Government Finance Officers Association where he serves as Vice Chair of the Debt Committee.

Firestine was also an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland's Graduate School of Public Policy where he taught Public Finance.

Mr. Firestine has a B.A. in Political Science from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania and a master's in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
