Patty Bubar serves as Acting Director of the Department of Environmental Protection, Montgomery County, Maryland.  Since 2015 she has functioned as Deputy Director of the Department.  She presently oversees the policy and direction for county environmental programs, as well as, the corporate administrative functions in support of the County’s environmental protection and compliance programs.  Under Ms. Bubar’s direction the approximately 150 staff provides trash and recycling collection services and disposal for residents, ensures protection of the water quality resource including compliance with a permit issued under the Clean Water Act and ensures that the County ordinances related to the environmental and quality of life in the County are enforced.

Prior to coming to the County, Ms. Bubar spent 38 years in the Federal Government in a variety of executive positions.

Ms. Bubar holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
