Ayodele McClenney

Director, Occupational Safety & Health

Ayodele McClenney is the Director of Occupational Safety and Health at DC Water. In this capacity, she oversees the development and delivery of safety initiatives for the Authority, and also ensures compliance with a wide range of regulatory requirements.

During her tenure as Director, she has established benchmarks and a quantitative analysis approach that has aligned safety programs to better protect staff and minimize financial risk and legal exposure for the Authority.

Under her guidance, and as a result of her leadership development program, DC Water has become the first public utility to have more than 100 credentialed safety supervisors. This initiative has transformed the Authority's safety culture by consistently engaging staff in programs that raise awareness of worksite risks and reinforce industry best practices.

Ms. McClenney has more than twenty years of management and leadership experience and has been with DC Water since 2003. She holds a BSCE from Howard University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland. Additionally, she is also certified as a Safety Trained Supervisor by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

If you bike, drive, or walk through Georgetown, we’ve got changes starting this week around the Potomac River Tunnel construction on Water Street NW. The Capital Crescent Trail has a new temporary detour through Georgetown Waterfront Park, open now for cyclists between 33rd and Potomac streets NW.
