My DC Water Upgrade

Exciting news! DC Water launched a brand new customer web portal in 2017. It offers new and easy-to-use services for paying your bill and understanding your water usage.

All new and current customers must register for the new My DC Water Portal to take advantage of our online features.

How To Register For The New Portal:

Validate property ownership or status as the property manager and create a new User ID at

As DC Water begins transitioning to the new customer information system, only property owners and property managers will initially be able to create a new User ID at  However, tenants and other third parties can continue to make one-time payments at When the full system is deployed in 2018, tenants will have the ability (with property owner approval) to create an online User ID.

Property Managers will need the account owners last name, account number and address to register an account under their profile. Also please be aware that until our next upgrade in 2018, there can be only one profile, either the property owner or the property manager.

Important Information For Customers

  • After creating a new User ID … 
  • Re-enroll in auto-pay at - if applicable.

To avoid interruption in auto-pay services, property owners or property managers must re-enroll in auto-pay. If property owners or property managers fail to re-enroll in auto-pay before May 1, 2018, auto-pay information will be deactivated. However, payments can continue to be made via online one-time payments, phone or mail until the property owner/manager chooses to re-enroll in auto-pay. 

  • Re-enroll in paperless billing at – if applicable.

Beginning July 17, 2017, all customers enrolled in paperless billing began receiving a paper bill. Property owners/managers will be required to re-enroll in paperless billing to take advantage of the online features.

Please note - when property owners or managers re-enroll in paperless billing, only the person/entity enrolled will begin receiving the paperless bill. Property owners/managers will be responsible for forwarding paperless bills to any parties who you wish to pay the bill. However, beginning in 2018, owners/managers will then have ability to add third parties to begin receiving paperless bills.

DC Water launched its first-ever mobile app as part of the new system. DC Water customers can access their online accounts anywhere, anytime. The mobile My DC Water app is available– free of charge—for Android in the Google Play Store and for the iPhone in the Apple App Store.
