DC Water Celebrates Earth Week throughout the District

April 19, 2011

WASHINGTON, DC – In celebration of Earth Week, DC Water provides educational programs focusing on water conservation and the benefits of tap water. During various events, DC Water staff will provide information and showcase a water conservation display with several water-saving devices.

“Though protecting the environment is a year-round mission of DC Water, we make a special effort to reach the public with educational programs during Earth Week,” said DC Water General Manager George S. Hawkins. “We invite everyone who is interested in learning more about DC Water, water conservation and the benefits of tap water to join us at these events, especially at our exhibit at Freedom Plaza and the screening of Tapped at George Washington University.”

DC Water is teaming up with George Washington University to provide a screening and panel discussion of the documentary Tapped – a critical look at the bottled water industry—on Wednesday evening at George Washington University.
