What We Do
Soapstone Valley Park Sewer Rehabilitation Project
The Soapstone Valley Park is a property of NPS. NPS is currently in the process of defining the correct NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) Compliance Pathway, and determining whether DC Water will be required to develop an EA or Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) document. This decision will take into account public comments received by NPS and DC Water during the Public Scoping Period through October 31, 2013. DC Water requests that comments and concerns about the project be submitted via http://parkplanning.nps.gov/rocr or emailed to the Project Manager, Jessica Demoise, at firstname.lastname@example.org by that deadline.

Meanwhile, DC Water is in the process of exploring concepts for sewer rehabilitation that will be defined, evaluated and detailed as Alternatives in the upcoming EA or EIS. Once drafted, the draft EA or EIS will be made available for a 60 day Public Comment Period. The confirmed schedule for this Public Comment Period has not been determined, but will be provided in future correspondence.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2015, DC Water co-hosted with members of ANC 3F a public meeting to present to interested community members alternatives for design of the Soapstone Valley Park Sewer Rehabilitation Project that have been developed and are under evaluation. The meeting was held in the Forest Hills Home's Community Room, located at 4901 Connecticut Avenue NW. The meeting was scheduled to start at 7:30pm and conclude at 9:00pm.
