WATER MAIN REPAIRS DISRUPT SERVICE IN SOUTHEAST

September 14, 2007

This evening, D.C. Water and Sewer Authority (WASA) crews are repairing a broken 12-inch water main located at Pennsylvania Avenue, SE between 27th and 30th streets, SE. While the main is shut down and repairs are being made, some residential and commercial customers in and around this area will experience a disruption in service.

Meanwhile, during the repairs, one southbound lane on Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed to traffic at 27th Street.

WASA crews are working as quickly as possible to repair the water main and restore service to the area.

WASA provides water and wastewater collection and treatment services for approximately 130,000 metered customers in the District.
