Water Main Repaired Serving Georgetown/Palisades/Kent Area

DC Water and Sewer Authority crews repaired a water main break in the Georgetown/Palisades/ Kent area that left some residents with no or low water in the morning.

By mid-afternoon, the crews had located the break in the 12-inch main, repaired it and restored water service to the area.

The areas affected had included McArthur Boulevard; V, U and W Streets; Hutchins Place, Ashby Street, 48th Place, Potomac Avenue and Whitehaven.

Authority Offers Virtual and In-Person Options

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Washington Aqueduct, which supplies water to DC Water, annually performs a temporary disinfectant switch from chloramine to chlorine. This year, the switch runs from March 25 to May 6. During that time, customers may notice temporary minor changes in taste and odor.
