WASA Board of Directors to vote on WASA and Fire Department fire hydrant agreement

On Thursday, November 1, the WASA Board of Directors is expected to approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DC Water and Sewer Authority and the DC Fire and EMS Department. This MOU clarifies the responsibilities of each agency for more than 9,000 public fire hydrants in the District.

Authority Offers Virtual and In-Person Options

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Washington Aqueduct, which supplies water to DC Water, annually performs a temporary disinfectant switch from chloramine to chlorine. This year, the switch runs from March 25 to May 6. During that time, customers may notice temporary minor changes in taste and odor.
