Traffic Advisory - Modified Traffic Closure on Oregon Avenue, NW

Closure Information from April 2017 thru December 2018
(Washington, DC) – DC Water is performing construction activities as a part of the sewer rehabilitation project for Oregon Avenue, NW.
Starting Monday, April 3, 2017 through December 2018, DC Water will close the north and south bound lanes on Oregon Avenue, NW between Oregon Knolls Drive, NW and the private drive north of Oregon Knolls Drive, NW. There are no new changes to the traffic patterns south of Tennyson Street, NW.
Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists are urged to adhere to the posted detour signs and to use caution when traveling around the work zone. DC Water will continue to update the public of any changes as they occur.
- Some traffic delays within the vicinity of the work zones are anticipated.
- Lane closures are in accordance with traffic plans approved by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).
DC Water is performing sewer rehabilitation projects throughout the city as part of its Capital Improvement Program. This project involves the rehabilitation of sewers on Oregon Avenue, from Oregon Knolls Drive, NW to Bingham Drive, NW. Benefits of this project include the rehabilitation of an aging sewer system, improving structural integrity while maintaining adequate hydraulic capacity, and reducing stream and groundwater infiltration and potential sanitary sewer overflows.
