(Washington, D.C.) - District of Columbia Mayor Anthony A. Williams named a local lawyer and longtime District resident Glenn S. Glenn S. Gerstell, 49, will assume his position at WASA's first board meeting of the year, January 4, 2001. Gerstell is currently the managing partner of the Washington DC office of Milbank Tweed Hadley and McCloy LLP. A specialist in global infrastructure finance, he has been employed by the law firm since 1976. He became a partner in 1985 and previously served as the head of the firm's Asian offices. Gerstell also served on Mayor Williams' transition team for the Public Safety Sector after the election in 1998.
