(Washington, DC) – DC Water is performing construction activities on South Capitol Street as part of the Clean Rivers Project.

Beginning Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 9:30am through Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 1:30am, weather permitting, crews will be working continuously within the Poplar Point Junction Shaft located adjacent to South Capitol Street, between Firth Sterling Avenue, SE and Howard Road, SE. During this critical portion of the work, there will be an increase in truck traffic for delivery of needed concrete into the work zone.

This work is part of ongoing activities in support of the Blue Plains Tunnel portion of the Clean Rivers Project.

Important Information:
* There will be 150 concrete deliveries during this portion
of the work.
* Existing traffic lanes will be maintained during
construction.
* Some traffic delays within the vicinity of the work zone
are possible.
