DC Water, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, DOJ and EPA to announce update on proposed modification to the long term control plan to incorporate green infrastructure;

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, DC Water, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will provide an update on the proposed modification to DC Water’s long term control plan to significantly reduce combined sewer overflows to the Anacostia and Potomac rivers and Rock Creek. There will also be an announcement on local green jobs.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Washington Aqueduct, which supplies water to DC Water, annually performs a temporary disinfectant switch from chloramine to chlorine. This year, the switch runs from March 25 to May 6. During that time, customers may notice temporary minor changes in taste and odor.
