Broad Branch Road, NW Closed for Emergency Sanitary Sewer Line Repair Work

(Washington, D.C.)-The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water), in coordination with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), is conducting an emergency sanitary sewer line repair on Broad Branch Road, NW, between Brandywine Street and Ridge Road.

Impacts:

* While the emergency repair is underway Broad Branch Road, between Brandywine Street and Ridge Road, will remain closed. It is anticipated that the repair work will be completed by Thursday, July 14, 2011.

Temporary traffic signs and detour signage will be set up throughout the area to alert and guide motorists.

Authority Offers Virtual and In-Person Options

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Washington Aqueduct, which supplies water to DC Water, annually performs a temporary disinfectant switch from chloramine to chlorine. This year, the switch runs from March 25 to May 6. During that time, customers may notice temporary minor changes in taste and odor.
