Steve Caldwell is the Director of Security for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water). Mr. Caldwell reports to the Executive Vice President, Administration and administers program development, implementation and evaluation of the Authority's security program. The program ensures the highest level of security for Authority staff and assets and the lowest risk of loss and liability to the organization. Mr. Caldwell also interprets security laws, regulations and contract requirements, and maintains relationships with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
Additionally, Mr. Caldwell provides leadership and direction in all areas of security, loss control and security programs. He will collaborate with internal and external groups to resolve security-related issues. Mr. Caldwell will monitor security conditions and analyze data from external and internal sources and advise administration of appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Mr. Caldwell joined the Authority as the Facilities Services Manager and provided technical expertise on remodeling and construction projects. He was appointed Director of Facilities/Security in 2010. Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Caldwell was a construction manager/quality assurance coordinator at URS Corp., and was assigned to a $42 billion pumping rehabilitation project at DC Water.
Mr. Caldwell has 30 years of experience in management in facilities/construction and security/counter-intelligence in the armed forces and in the civilian sector.
