Director of Enterprise Applications
Hari Kurup joined DC Water in July 2014 as Enterprise Information Architect and became Director of Enterprise Applications (IT) in April 2017. In this role, Mr. Kurup oversees the development of an information technology strategy and roadmap for authority as well as the development and implementation of the policies and objectives of the IT department. As Director, Mr. Kurup analyzes the business requirements of different departments and conducts feasibility studies to determine the best use of technical resources.
As director, Mr. Kurup manages the day-to-day operations of the department under the guidance of CIO, including software development, configuration, capitation, and software purchases. His role also includes understanding the business needs of internal users, analyzing aspects of the utility industry and developing solutions that utilize new or existing technologies in innovative ways. He works with users and Information Services leaders to implement products and strategies which will allow DC Water to meet or exceed its strategic objectives. He also interacts on a daily basis with vendors and maintains and improves these relationships.
Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Kurup worked for KPIT Info Systems, where he was a BI Director for North America. In that role, he managed several ERP, CRM and BI projects as well as pre-sales activities, product development, implementation and organizational development.
Mr. Kurup has a Master’s degree in Finance from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Calicut University.
