Alan Roth is Senior Executive Vice President of the United States Telecom Association in Washington, DC. He brings 23 years of senior congressional staff and government relations consulting experience to his work in legislative and regulatory advocacy in the telecommunications arena. Before entering the private sector, he served as Staff Director and Chief Counsel to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, U.S. House of Representatives, from 1992 to 1994, and its Chairman, Rep. John D. Dingell (D-MI), and to the Committee's Minority from 1995 to January 1997. Prior to those management roles he was a Counsel to the Committee from 1985 to 1992. Mr. Roth was regularly listed by the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call among the 50 most influential staff members in Congress. The Hill newspaper has also cited him in its list of top lobbyists as one of "the best in the business."
Mr. Roth holds a BA from American University and a JD from New York University Law School, where he was managing editor of the law review. Mr. Roth is admitted to the DC and Connecticut Bars.
