What We Do
Pope Branch Stream Restoration And Sewer Replacement Project
In coordination with the District Department of the Environment (DDOE), DC Water is designing a stream restoration and sewer replacement project around Pope Branch, a stream located within SE Washington's Pope Branch Park. Over $4 million will be invested in this project which will restore the Pope Branch stream to a natural, sustainable water-way, while replacing aged sewer infrastructure that currently runs parallel to the stream.

Scope of Work
- Installation of approximately 1,150 feet of 12-inch sewer mains
- Installation of approximately 1,490 feet of 18-inch sewer mains
- Installation of 13 new sewer manholes in the project area
- Replacement and/or rehabilitation of four storm sewer outfalls
Schedule
Construction is anticipated to start in November 2013 with an estimated completion date of October 2015.
