Rehabilitation and Upgrade Of The Fort Reno Pumping Station

DC Water will perform improvements for the Fort Reno Pumping Station located in northwest DC. Originally constructed in 1978, the pumping station, along with Elevated Tank No. 2, serve the 4th high service area west of Rock Creek Park. Through this project, DC Water will improve water quality and system reliability, increase water pressure in some areas, and maintain adequate flows throughout the system.

Scope Of Work

Major work items include, but are not limited to:

  • Replacement of pump controls, electrical service, emergency back-up generator and valves, as needed
  • Installation of valves to serve Elevated Tank No. 2
  • Upgrade of two remote pressure sensing sites
  • Electrical and communication conduits to facilitate installation of a security system

Project Schedule

Construction on this project is scheduled to start in May 2011 and will be completed by August 2015.
