Special Events
Every year DC Water takes part in a variety of national events:
- National Drinking Water Week
- Every year, DC Water partners with its water supplier, the Washington Aqueduct, to celebrate National Drinking Water Week. Exhibits and booths provide information on water quality, treatment processes, monitoring systems, water conservation, and ways to enhance water quality in the home.
- World Water Monitoring Day
- DC Water joins the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and environmental stakeholders for this annual education and outreach program to raise public participation in protecting water resources. The event includes exhibits and hands-on testing of local waterways.
- Earth Day Celebration
- Each year in April, DC Water participates, with information and interactive exhibits, in Earth Day activities in the Washington, DC area that make caring for the planet fun for all ages.
