DC Water will require an applicant to relocate a water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, or any structure, if their project has a negative impact on the pipeline. The applicant is responsible for the design, permit, inspection, and construction costs for the relocation. The design must meet the requirements of all permitting agencies. DC Water will only approve the plans after the applicant has the appropriate approval stamps on copies of the plans. When the plans are ready for approval, DC Water will estimate the costs to provide services during the construction of the relocation by the applicant's contractor. Once the applicant pays this fee, DC Water will approve the plans and issue a water and sewer availability certificate, which the applicant needs to apply for all of the other necessary permits. DC Water will complete the as-built of the completed work. DC Water will release any remaining funds from the estimate after DC Water and all other permitting agencies approve the completed work. |
