Steve Caldwell is the Director of Facilities for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water). Mr. Caldwell develops and manages preventive maintenance and building assessment programs and maintains the Comprehensive Facilities Plan. He manages a staff of 58, and is responsible for the routine care and maintenance of more than 110 buildings, 140 acres of land and several miles of roads. Mr. Caldwell reviews specifications, creates drawings, and manages contractors on complex projects.
Prior to his appointment to this role in May 2010, Mr. Caldwell was the Facilities Services Manager, managing buildings, grounds and roads. He also provided technical expertise on remodeling and construction projects and managed 38 individuals. In addition, he oversaw contractors working on facilities projects.
Mr. Caldwell has 30 years of experience in management in the fields of facilities/construction and security/counter-intelligence in both the armed forces and civilian sectors. He is currently enrolled in the Certified Facility Manager program at George Mason University in Virginia.
