William M. Walker
William M. Walker is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Walker & Dunlop, Inc., (NYSE: WD) a commercial real estate finance company. Walker & Dunlop is one of the largest apartment lenders in the United States with significant Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD origination and servicing expertise.
Mr. Walker joined Walker & Dunlop in 2003 from TeleTech, a global business process outsourcing (BPO) company. At TeleTech, Mr. Walker held several senior management positions including president of the company's European and Latin American divisions. Mr. Walker joined TeleTech from Newbridge Latin America where he worked on private equity transactions in the aviation, water, and apparel industries. Prior to Newbridge, he was general manager of a regional airline based in Argentina.
Mr. Walker's board experience is extensive including Chairman of the Board of Transcom Worldwide S.A., a publicly traded European outsourcing company, as well as Chairman of the Board of Walker & Dunlop, Inc. Mr. Walker also sits on the Board of Directors of Sustainable Technologies Fund, a Swedish clean-tech venture capital firm. He is a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Mr. Walker holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He is married to Dr. Sheila Walker and is the father of three young boys.
